FOSSIL WEEK
June 9-13
Grades K-4
During fossil week, we will explore all things fossilized — not just our favorite dinosaurs, but other animals and plants too! How do living things become fossils? What tools do we use to find fossils? Become a junior paleontologist as you learn the science skills to investigate the prehistoric past!
SPACE WEEK
June 16-20
Grades K-6
During space week, we will explore all things “out of this world!” What technology do we use to study space? What types of scientists are working together to put humans back on the Moon? We will investigate past and future missions of NASA, SpaceX, and beyond!
ENGINEERING WEEK
June 23-27
Grades K-4
During engineering week, we will introduce the many types of engineering and career roles associated with them. Campers will use the engineering design process to build a bridge and test it out, wire a circuit, or design a city. Join us and use science and math to brainstorm innovative solutions!
WEATHER WEEK
June 30-July 4
Grades K-4
During weather week, we will discover all the ways weather affects our lives and learn about the different areas of meteorology. How do we learn about past weather? How does extreme weather affect life on Earth? We will make our own weather instruments to measure and collect local data throughout the week.
MEDICAL WEEK
July 7-11
Grades K-6
During medical week, we will learn about how our body functions, take our vital signs, and check our reflexes. Design adaptive equipment for everyday activities. There is so much to learn about the human body and the medical scientists who help us take care of ourselves.
TECHNOLOGY WEEK
July 14-18
Grades 1-6
During technology week, we will explore the world of programming and digital design. Apply design principles to write and direct a stop-motion or animated clip. Learn the basics of coding and beta test a video game!
BIOLOGY WEEK
July 21-25
Grades K-4
During biology week, we will focus on all living things. Distinct from medical week, we will learn about scientists who study microscopic life, adaptations of plants and animals, and what fungi can do. Discover the many questions scientists still have about life as we know it!
CHEMISTRY WEEK
July 28-August 1
Grades 1-6
During chemistry week, we will conduct hands-on experiments to learn about different types of chemical and physical changes. How can we be safe scientists? Is cooking really chemistry? Don your lab coats and join us as we get to the heart of the matter and learn that not all good chemistry jokes “argon.”
MUSEUM WEEK
August 4-8
Grades K-6
During museum week, we will delve into the many different professions that work together to successfully operate a museum like the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. How do discoveries make their way to the museum floor? How do we design museum exhibits? This week, you will design your own museum or exhibit and invite your fellow campers to visit!
