Volunteer with Us

Our volunteers make a difference. We simply couldn’t do it without the dedicated efforts of so many. Year-round volunteers are the heart of our program. Teens are invited to apply for our special summer teen program. There are also opportunities for groups to volunteer together.

Who can volunteer?

  • Teens ages 14 and older
  • Adults of any age 18 and older
  • School groups aged 14 and older (6-20)
  • Corporate or civic volunteers (usually 6-20)

Group Opportunities

Interested in group volunteer opportunities? Opportunities are available for groups of 6-20. For additional information, please complete this form or contact the Volunteer Programs team at volunteers@perotmuseum.org and someone will get back to you within 72 hours.

ConnecTEEN

ConnecTEEN, formerly known as Perot Museum Teen Crew (PMTC), is a summer, application-only, volunteer program for students interested in serving their community and engaging with STEM professionals. Teens will welcome and engage the Museum’s summer campers through hands-on activities connected to our 11 permanent exhibit halls. Teens will develop 21st century skills through industry-based workshops, work-force readiness workshops and team building opportunities.

We are no longer accepting applications for summer 2024.

July 8-19 — Cohort 3

June 1 — Onsite Cohort 1 Orientation

June 15 — Onsite Cohorts 2 and 3 Orientation

July 20 — Onsite Cohort 4 Orientation

Shift time

Monday-Friday — 8am-3:30pm

Teens accepted into the program will need to undergo a background check and may need to fill additional workshop waivers and/or photo releases.

Individual/Year-Round Volunteering FAQs

  1. How do I receive the Presidential Volunteer Service Award?

    This award is based on the number of hours completed within a calendar year and concerning your age. Use the table below to determine howmany hours would be required to receive the award.

    • Ages 14-15: 100 or more hours needed
    • Ages 16-25: 250 or more hours needed
    • Ages 26 and up: 500 or more hours needed

    If you turn 16 or 26 on or before July 2 of the current year, you will need to complete the higher number of hours. You have one calendar year to complete the hours (January-December) no matter when you begin volunteering.

  2. Can I bring in hours from other organizations and still receive the award?

    70% of your completed volunteer hours must come from the Perot Museum in order for us to be the certifying organization.

Group Volunteering FAQs

  1. What is the dress code?

    Company or group shirts, pants or knee length shorts and close-toed.

  2. Do we need to complete a background check?

    If your company or group completes an annual background check please note that in your inquiry form to be sent a form. If they do not complete one or it is not applicable please be prepared to submit a list of names and emails of the expected participants to complete individual background checks.
